Strange I know, but despite designing sets and costumes for a couple of ballet performances during my time at university, I have never actually watched a full ballet!  Romeo and Juliet performed at Deutsche Oper was lovely to watch and I realised that I have actually been missing out on great nights out!  I intend to watch lots more as I thoroughly enjoyed it!  3Points?

A lovely day was spent with friends at the Pink Ball at Holmes Place, Potsdamer Platz.  The event was arranged by a colleague in aid of breast cancer awareness.  The day started with the opportunity to use the spa, which was lovely and relaxing!  Later we chatted, ate lovely food and drank lots of proseco.  Oh ... and left with lots of freebies including plenty of chances to visit the spa again .... heaven!  2Points?

I took a fantastic trip to Quedlinburg in the Harz mountains over the long weekend.  It was a beautiful day in a beautiful town.  On the downside, it was quite touristy due to the Walpurgisnacht fest.  Next year, I think I should take part in the actual celebrations as I feel I have both the appropriate look and witch skills to really show them how it is done ;-)  2 Points?

I know, I don’t have actual pictures to prove it, but taking photos and using a mobile is banned here!  Therefore I only have proof from the outside.  The Liquidrom is a place that I thought I would never go to, but I braved the rain and the nudity and ended up REALLY enjoying myself!  8 hours of pure relaxation.  Would definitely recommend this.  2 points?

Well, this is my fifth year of being in Berlin and the very first time I have braved May Day in Kreuzberg.  The MyFest festival was cool, but I ducked out around 4ish and left others to do the rioting.  I think 2 points for braving the crowds and experiencing some great music but it could have been 3 or even 4 if I had actually rioted!  Will plan to do that next year!

Red and I went to the Photography Playground on Saturday. It's an exibition in an old industrial building. You've been given a camera, which you can try out in the different installations. You can chose between three different models. There boards, which explain how to get the most of your camera in the different lighting situations. You can keep the memory card with your images. Lots of fun at a rainy day.

Fantastic day and evening with a great group of people making sushi.  Quite successful with the sushi but rather rubbish when it came to the spring rolls!  2points?

Who would have thought that Sandra Bullock, floating around in space, tied to a piece of string could be so riveting!?!  Amazing, realistic and truly memorable - a fine cinematic marvel.  At no point did the scientific accuracy of the film come into question, and I was pleased to see absolutely no cinematic clichés whatsoever.


The only thing that would have made it even more memorable would be if:
1.  she had kept floating into space at the start of the film
or
2.  she would have been snapped up by a crocodile on her return to earth.

As for the 3D aspect - well, at least we looked cool in our sunglasses!

After five years of being in Berlin, I eventually had my first trip to the Berlinale.  As well as that, I went to Zoo Palast for the first time ever … extra points I think!  I went to see the shorts which were really great.  Well, all except for the documentary about dissecting r.a.t's at the Charite Hospital, where many of the audience found the need to get up and leave!  The renovation of the theatre is also amazing, it is really beautiful and I will definitely be going back.  3 points?
